Homers

Homers are people who stand by a team no matter how poorly they perform, no matter how inept their decision may be, no matter how far from glory their team falls. They stick by their team through those tough times, through those rebuilding years, through those struggles to get more than 10,000 people out to a game. Homers got their name because they always support their Home team. Get it? Home -> Home'rs.

There's a lot of Homers in Edmonton. They love the Oilers. They live for the Oilers. When the Oilers lose, they get depressed. When they win, they get ecstatic. It's a roller coaster ride; a bi-polar experience of being a fan.

There's nothing wrong with supporting an organization and cheering for your home team. But there is something wrong with blindly accepting the decisions of an organization that you feel are clearly wrong. You can question your team and still remain a fan.

I would also like to point out that blind hatred of your home team is tremendously unnecessary. You're just being a Hater. Pokey Reddick does not support Haters. Pokey Reddick supports intelligent reflections.
